William R. Powell, Sr.
1945-2020
William Roger Powell, Sr., 75, of Stephens City, Va., died Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Heritage Hall in Front Royal, Va.
He was born June 10, 1945 at Woodrow, he was the son of the late George Denton Powell and Juanita Corbett Powell Peters.
He was a graduate of Paw Paw High School, worked at Crockwell Equipment Company, Hagerstown, Md., operated his own business, ABC Type Tech and was custodian for a Catholic School in Winchester, Va.
He served as a Marine Corps Reserves.
He is survived by one son, William Powell, Jr., Hagerstown; two sisters, Marie Brackett, Martinsburg and Barbara Fishel, Slanesville; two brothers, Gilbert Corbett, Salisbury, N.C. and Robert Powell, Paw Paw and three grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Angel Powell in 2017 and one son, Charlie Powell.
His body has been cremated and inurnment was Friday, October 16 at Camp Hill Cemetery.
Evangelist Richard White officiated. Funeral arrangements were handled by Kimble Funeral Home, Paw Paw.
