Tri-State wins quality awards

Tri-State Community Health received two awards on August 16 from the federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) at a presentation in McConnellsburg.

The agency presented Tri-State representatives with the National Quality Leader award and a Health Center Quality Leader award. The awards recognize the highest performing health centers among over 1,400 health centers in the Nation.

The prestigious awards were presented to Tri-State Community Health Center, by Leah M. Suter, HRSA Region III Deputy Administrator during a celebration of National Health Center Week at their McConnellsburg, Pa., site attended by Maryland and Pennsylvania local, state, and national officials; Board of Directors members; and staff.

As a National Quality Leader, Tri-State was among 36 health centers in the Nation to exceeded national clinical quality benchmarks, including Healthy People 2020 goals, in chronic disease management, preventive care, or perinatal/prenatal care. In 2017, Tri-State was among 46 health centers to receive a National Quality award.

As a Health Center Quality Leader, Tri-State achieved the best overall clinical performance among all health centers, placing in the top 30% of the adjusted quartile rankings for clinical quality measures.

Susan Walter, CEO, commented “Tri-State Community Health Center strives every day to improve the quality of life for our more than 19,400 patients in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia and it is an honor to be recognized for the high quality of health care we provide to everyone.”

Tri-State operates a Women’s Health Center in Cumberland and primary care centers in Cumberland and Hancock, Md.; Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and McConnellsburg, Pa.

Tri-State is among over 1,400 not-for-profit community health centers operating 11,000 sites in the Nation and serving over 27 million.
