1941-2018
Thomas Vincent Boyd, 77, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born February 5, 1941 to the late William Sebastian Boyd and Hazel Mae Boyd in Cumberland, Md.
Tom graduated from Fort Hill High School in Cumberland and earned a degree in art at Towson State College.
He served in the U.S. Air Force, worked as an engineer for CSX and completed his career with the US Department of the Treasury in Martinsburg, WV.
Tom always did anything he could to support the hopes and dreams of those he loved. Tom is survived by his wife of 38 years, Frances Nettles Boyd; sons, Alexander Sebastian Boyd of St. Petersburg, Florida and Leslie James Boyd, of Charleston; as well as many members of the extended Boyd family.
To honor the spirit of Tom, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that donations be made to the renovations fund at St. Mary’s Church, 3334 University Ave., Morgantown, WV 26505 or the Art Department at West Virginia University, so that others may find comfort in faith as he did or pursue their creative dreams as he encouraged his loved ones to do.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27 at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Morgantown with Father John V. DiBacco officiating.
