Thomas E. Risinger

1951-2018

Thomas Edward Risinger, 67, of Hedgesville, died Saturday, September 1, 2018 at WVU-East Berkeley Medical Center, Martinsburg.

Born August 15, 1951 in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Elwood Edward and Dorothy Mae French Risinger.

He served six years in the Air National Guard.

He graduated from Berkeley Springs High School, where he had played baseball, wrestled and ran cross country track. He earned a post-secondary certificate in Electro Mechanical Technology from James Rumsey Technical Institute.

He was an electrician.

He worked at CCM in Martinsburg and worked with the CSX Railroad for 19 years.

He was an avid bowler, golfer and liked playing softball.

He is survived by his wife of 48 and a half years, Darlene Faye Fox Risinger at home; two sons, Christian Risinger and Alan Wayne Risinger, both of Berkeley Springs; one sister, Diann Risinger; one brother, Jack Risinger; four grandchildren, Taylor Risinger, Maddie Risinger, Baraka Moran-Risinger, Owlsley Steepleton-Risinger and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant grandsons; three sisters, Janet Householder, Mary Largent and Bonnie Murphy and three infant brothers.

Graveside services will be private. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, September 7 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs.
