Steven M. “Steve” Fredman
1960-2021
Steven Mark “Steve” Fredman, 60, of Paw Paw, W.Va. died on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at his home.
Steve was born on July 3, 1960 in Cumberland, Md., the son of the late James Fredman, Sr. and Genny Likens Fredman.
He was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division in the United States Army where he was awarded a Bronze Star for bravery, graduated from Paw Paw High School class of 1978, attended Hagerstown College where he became a licensed ordained minister, a member of the Springfield Assembly of God in Springfield, W.Va. and the Lions Club in Paw Paw, W.Va.
Steven enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and pretty much anything else that involved the outdoors. He went to school and learned to be a taxidermist and farmed since he was a young man.
Steve received great joy running his chainsaw, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and spent countless hours hustling (buying & selling). Most importantly, Steve was a Godly person and led a lot of folks to the Lord.
Steve married Michelle Siler Fredman on August 21, 1997 in Winchester, Va.
Surviving with his wife of nearly 24 years are three sons: Steven M. Fredman, Jr. of Gainesville, Fla., Darwin J. Fredman of Creede, Colo., Malcolm K. Harvey, III of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters: Casandra E. Roach of Paw Paw, W.Va., Rayanna M. Harvey of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two brothers: James F. “Freddy” Fredman, Jr. of Short Gap, W.Va., George M. Fredman of Paw Paw, W.Va.; a sister: Vivian L. Deetz of Short Gap, W.Va.; four granddaughters: Alexis Marie Harvey, Riley Nevaeh Harvey, Addilyn Faith Roach and Autumn Michelle Harvey and a goddaughter, Destiny Faith Smith.
Steve was preceded in death along with his parents by a daughter, Monique D. Fredman.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 from 4-6 p.m. at Steve’s home, 687 Cardinal View Road, Paw Paw, WV 25434. Call 304-947-5224 to enter the gate.
