Last Friday, March 13 all Morgan County spring sports teams along with the rest of the schools in West Virginia were suspended until further notice due to the recent coronavirus outbreak. This also included the cancellation of the WV A, AA and AAA Girls State Basketball Championships and the boys’ regional basketball play-off tournaments that was brought to an abrupt halt by Governor Jim Justice last Thursday.
This prohibits the teams from practicing or playing games until further notice.
Spring sports affected by the sudden cancellations at Berkeley Springs High School includes baseball, softball, tennis and track. At Paw Paw Middle/High School includes baseball and track. At Warm Springs Middle School track was affected.
As of right now there will be a review of the current situations by the outbreak on Friday, April 10.
Coaches suggest their athletes to work out on their own to stay in shape in case the season resumes.
