Softball Senior Spotlight

Hannah Burton

by Jamie Harris

Berkeley Springs High School Lady Indians softball player Hannah Burton is a left hander with a powerful swing. She helped contribute to a lot of wins over the last three years on the diamond. Burton was also versatile on the defensive side where she played first and third base along with putting in time as a catcher.

Last season, Burton was named to the Morgan Messenger & Hancock News All-Area Softball Team as a catcher and designated batter. She batted .295 with six doubles, one home run, 18 RBIs and had a fielding percentage of .944.

With the end of her Berkeley Springs High School softball career over Burton will now have to rely on her favorite memories in a Lady Indians uniform.

She was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council and Drum Major for the Berkeley Springs High School Marching Band. After Burton graduates from Berkeley Springs High School later this year she will be attending Marshall University in the fall with plans on majoring in engineering.
