Shelby Jean Deschenes, age 80, of Hedgesville, W.Va., died on Monday, March 1, 2021 at the WVU-EAST Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
Born December 23, 1940 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Roy Woodrow “Bud” and Frances Virginia Barker Moss. She was a Christian. Shelby was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School. She was the owner-operator of Shelby’s Boutique. Shelby was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter #1311 in Berkeley Springs. She enjoyed painting, singing and playing instruments, vacationing, camping and going to the river.
Shelby is survived by her husband Alain Claude Deschenes at home; her niece that she considered her daughter, Nicole Michael of Berkeley Springs; her sister, Genevieve Virginia Funk of Berkeley Springs and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Pastor Shirley Ann Hiles and Daisy Mae Somers.
