Local police, first responders and volunteers continue to search for a 15 year old Berkeley Springs teen who has been reported missing by her family.
Riley Crossman was last seen at her home in Berkeley Springs on Wednesday, May 8.
Morgan County Sheriff K.C. Bohrer said Crossman did not show up for school at the Berkeley Springs High School on Wednesday.
Crossman was in contact with her boyfriend in the early morning hours of Wednesday on Facetime, said police.
She has no history of running away from home, and family members indicate that would be out of character.
Bohrer said Friday morning that his agency is working with the FBI, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the West Virginia Fusion Center and police agencies in the four-state region to locate Crossman.
On Thursday, a group of 70 volunteers gathered at Berkeley Springs State Park to help search the area for the teen.
Thousands of fliers have been printed, handed out and hung locally, and circulated on social media since Crossman was reported missing.
Sheriff Bohrer said his department has been conducting a search and investigation continuously since being contacted by the family.
He said members of the department have been conducting phone pings (locator signals), analyzing social media activity, interviewing friends and associates since Wednesday.
A case has been opened with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to spread the search and use national resources to locate Crossman.
Riley Crossman is a white female with blonde hair and blue eyes. She is 5’6” tall and weighs 125 lbs. Crossman was last seen wearing a black hoodie and black leggings. She may wear glasses, and has a scar on the center of her forehead.
