School staff & central office personnel test positive for COVID-19

by Kate Evans

Morgan County Schools and the Berkeley-Morgan County Health Department have received confirmation that a Morgan County Schools Central Office staff member and a Berkeley Springs High School staff member have tested positive for COVID-19, according to a Monday press release from the school system.

The Health Department has been working closely with Morgan County Schools to identify any potential persons who may have had close contact with the staff members including other students, staff, family members and friends. It was determined that there were no exposures to either impacted staff member.

Last week, Tuttle announced that a staff member at Pleasant View Elementary had tested positive for the virus.

“It was determined that there was zero exposure to students and very minimal exposure to staff,” Tuttle said in a November 17 press release.

Students and staff have done a great job wearing masks and social distancing at school to help prevent exposure, said School Superintendent Kristen Tuttle.

“To keep our schools open to our children, it will take our entire community following established COVID-19 protocol including hand washing, facial covering use, social distancing, and proper hygiene,” Tuttle stressed.
