Sarah K. Candler
1937-2018
Sarah Kesecker Candler 81, of Danville, Va., died Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Riverside Health & Rehabilitation.
Mrs. Candler was born in Morgan County, W.Va., on November 3, 1937 a daughter of the late Kenneth Custer Kesecker and Mary Elizabeth Crone Kesecker.
Mrs. Candler worked as a Dental Hygienist and later became a Registered Nurse, and was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church.
On July 20, 1961, she married the love of her life, Robert Arthur Candler, who died on June 30, 2014.
Survivors include two daughters, Clara Elizabeth Thames, and friend, David Duckworth; Laura Lowery, and husband, Warren; a brother, Bernard Kesecker; a grandson, Anthony Quinton Thames, and wife, Brittni Marie, and their daughter, Ellianna Marie Thames; a granddaughter, Christina Elizabeth Beggarly, and husband, Joshua.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Sandy Creek Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. James Bibee.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Danville-Pittsylvania Cancer Association.
