Sandra M. Kauffman
1940-2020
Sandra Mavin Kauffman, 79, of Berkeley Springs, died Friday, May 1, 2020 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born September 22, 1940 in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Selvin Blondina Catoe Kiser.
She was a Christian.
She graduated from high school in LaPlata, Md. and attended Northern Virginia Community College.
She worked as an innkeeer for 35 years, owning and operating The Highlawn Inn in Berkeley Springs.
She was a community activist and one of the original founders of Travel Berkeley Springs, a member of the Morgan Arts Council and the Berkeley Springs Chamber of Commerce.
She liked gardening and animals.
She is survived by her daughter, Laura Baughman, Fairfax, Va. and her partner of 35 years, Timothy Miller, at home.
Services and interment will be private.
