Roger L. Stephens
1940-2019
Roger Lee Stephens, 78, of Berkeley Springs, formerly of Maysville, died Friday, July 19, 2019 at Hampshire Memorial Long-Term Care Unit in Romney.
Born August 19, 1940 in Hinton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret Smallwood Stephens.
He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Rotruck Stephens, October 2, 2003 and one sister Brenda Bahmer.
He attended school in Crab Orchard.
He enlisted and served as a cook in the United States Army.
He worked as a self-employed carpenter for many years.
He was an avid Washington Redskins fan and also followed Nascar Racing.
He is survived by two daughters Tammy Painter, Berkeley Springs and Christy Kesner, Maysville; two sons Timmy Stephens and Rodney Stephens both of Crawford, Ga.; two brothers, Galin Stephens, Beckley and Mark Wayne, Hinton and one sister, Debra Williams, Hinton. He had six grandchildren, Sandy Hodges, Kelsey Painter, Brandon Stone, Jacques Leroux, Amanda Stephens and Justin Stephens. He had two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for a later date.
