Robert “Bob” Twigg

1940-2021

On Sunday, May 2, 2021, Robert “Bob” Twigg, loving husband, Father, and proud Pap, passed away at the age of 80.

Bob was born on October 9, 1940 in Morgan County, W.Va., to Frank and Lillian Batt Twigg.

He attended school in Paw Paw, W.Va. and later received his GED.

Bob married Christina Spring on June 19, 1964. They had a son, Robert David.

During his lifetime, he worked many jobs, including construction, WV Department of Highways, Berkeley Club Bottling Company, Morgan County Courthouse, CNB Bank and after retiring, he worked part-time at PS Storage.

Bob liked “old cars” and enjoyed his 1953 Ford, he planted a vegetable garden each year and loved sharing the bounty, and especially eating what he raised after Chris cooked it! Bob enjoyed playing cards with his kids, loved baseball and watched the Washington Nationals and going fishing. He collected clocks, and was always on the look-out for any unique ones. Bob liked to tease, had a great sense of humor and a quick wit.

He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Great Cacapon, where he served as a Trustee for many years.

Bob belonged to Deford Lodge #88 A.F. & A.M. in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., where he just had received his 50 year pin in April. He served in the United States Army and was in the Reserves.

Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years Chris; his son, David and daughter-in-law, Shirley; one sister, Judy Tritapoe and her husband; two grandchildren, Cody Twigg, Kayla Harkcom and her husband Donnie; great grandson, Maverick Harkcom; two brothers-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his infant twin sons, Franklin and Brian and his sister, Jean.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 5371 Central Avenue, Great Cacapon, W.Va., with military honors provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard. Pastors Dick Voorhaar and Richard Craig will officiate. Burial for Bob will be private.

A reception in the social hall will follow the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bob’s memory may be made to the Calvary United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 217, Great Cacapon, WV 25422.
