Rivers rose from heavy rains

The low water bridge on Rockford Road in Great Cacapon on Friday, May 1 was clogged with large tree debris after heavy rains Thursday night drove the Cacapon and Potomac Rivers up overnight. The Cacapon topped out at 9,150 cubic feet per second at around 5:30 a.m. on Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey river gage near Great Cacapon.
