Riley William “Bill” Trumpower, 83, of Big Pool, Md., died Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Md.

Born April 28, 1936 in Big Pool, he was the son of the late Alonzo Vernon and Fanie Susan Hull Trumpower.

He was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Hancock.

He was a graduate of Clear Spring High School.

He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged at the rank of Private First Class.

He first worked as a sheet metal mechanic and then worked as a policeman for the Town of Hancock and later as a process server.

He was a member of Webster B. Harrison American Legion Post #26 and James W. Bowers Masonic Lodge #173 A.F. & A.M., both in Hancock. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Ali Ghan Shrine, both in Cumberland, Md.

He liked hunting and was an artist, specializing in oil painting and drawing with chalk and pencil.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Kay Sensel Whiteside Trumpower, at home; his children, Bonita Trumpower, Hagerstown, Md., Amanda Decker and Meredith Hendershot, both of Warfordsburg, Pa. and Amy Damoulakis, Frederick, Md.; his sister, Peggy Moore, Big Pool; four grandchildren, John Damoulakis and Dana Damoulakis, both of Frederick, Md., Paul Hendershot and Owen DeShong, both of Warfordsburg and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Edward “Jim” and Harold Trumpower.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, February 11 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Berkeley Springs. Pastor Dennis Whitmore officiated. Interment with military honors were provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard at Parkhead Cemetery.
