Raymond P. Truax, Sr.

1951-2021

Raymond Paul Truax, Sr., age 69, of Needmore, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Hershey Medical Center, in Hershey Pa.

Born August 2, 1951, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of the late Harold H. and Julia P. (Mills) Truax; and the husband of Kathy D. (Wertz) Truax, whom he married on August 5, 1968 in the Black Oak Mennonite Church, in Warfordsburg, Pa.

He was a member of the Cedar Grove Christian Church, in Warfordsburg.

Raymond enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and he was also an avid hunter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Diane Cain and her husband, Dale, of Warfordsburg, Pa., and Wendy Fox and her husband, Kenneth, also of Warfordsburg; one son, Raymond Truax, Jr. and his wife, Susie, of Needmore; a sister, Doris Kerns and her husband, Stanley, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Truax; and a grandson.

The family received friends on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at the Cedar Grove Christian Church, 5806 Flickerville Road, Warfordsburg, Pa., from 10 a.m. until 12 noon.

Funeral services were held there at 12 noon, with Rev. William Swope officiating. Burial followed in the adjoining church cemetery.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Grove Funeral Home, in Hancock, Md.
