director January (Souders) Weber and Tera Swisher have worked at the preschool for more than 20 years each, and were recognized by Maryland Delegate Mike McKay for that service to the town and families in the tri-state area. Good Shepherd Preschool is an outreach project of the Hancock United Methodist Church, which oversees the school through a Board of Directors. Deborah Strong Cohill, who acts as bookkeeper for the school, said officials had hoped to celebrate Weber and Swisher’s two-decade anniversaries when they came around several months ago.

“Because there is so much uncertainty as to when the restrictions will end, the Good Shepherd Board of Directors decided they didn’t want to wait any longer to acknowledge these ladies,” Cohill said.

Weber and Swisher were each given an official proclamation thanking them for their service as educators, along with flowers and a gift.
