Police looking for suspect in car break-ins

The Hancock Police Department is asking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual who is a suspect in the recent theft from motor vehicle cases they are investigating.

There are two suspects in the case, however, a security camera at Sheetz caught the face of one of the suspects.

The vehicle break-ins occurred in the early morning hours of Monday, December 14. According to the Hancock Police report provided by Police Chief Jim Robison, the thefts were from unlocked vehicles on Hillside Road, Taliaferro Street, Baptist Road, and Cleveland Street.

Numerous other unlocked vehicles in town were gone through overnight, but nothing was taken, Robison said in the report.

The Hancock Police Department have released a photo of a suspect in numerous theft from motor vehicle cases they are working.

The suspects are described as two white males wearing hooded sweatshirts.

The vehicle involved appears to be a black in color with a distinct white stripe along the bottom, police said.

It is believed the suspects parked the car in the area of High Street and Pennsylvania Avenue and then walked on foot from there.

The police have already received tips from the public.

Police remind people to please lock their car and keep valuables out of sight.
