Phyllis Wilma Bohrer, age 81, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Davis Medical Center in Elkins, W.Va.

Born March 3, 1939 in Hancock, Md., she was the daughter of the late Ray Albert and Catherine Mae Johnson Grove.

She was a member of the Stone Bridge Church of the Brethren in Hancock, Md.

She attended Hancock High School.

She had worked as a presser at Londontown Manufacturing in Hancock for more than 30 years and after the plant closing worked at Valley View Nursing Home in Berkeley Springs.

Phyllis was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter #1311 in Berkeley Springs. She enjoyed shopping and watching TV.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 61 years, Vernon Dillon Bohrer, at home; her children, Ray Vernon Bohrer and his wife Valerie and Tamela Anne Waugh, all of Berkeley Springs; two grandchildren, Matheau Robert Arrowood of Berkeley Springs and Ross Waugh of Great Cacapon, W.Va.; two great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor Stotler and her brother, Ray Albert “June Bug” Grove, Jr.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., with Rev. Paul Martin officiating. Interment was in Stone Bridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

The family received friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
