Phyllis J. Pittman

1935-2020

Phyllis Jean Pittman, 85, of Davenport, Fla. and formerly of Needmore, Pa., died on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at AdventHealth Heart of Florida in Davenport.

Born March 30, 1935 in Hancock, she was the daughter of the late Reed Walker, Sr. and Virginia Pleasant Gordon Johnson.

She was a Christian.

She attended schools in Hancock.

She worked as a seamstress with London Fog Manufacturing Company in Hancock.

She was a member of the Risinger-Stotler VFW Post #4019 Ladies Auxiliary in Berkeley Springs.

She liked sewing, crocheting, reading, gardening and watching wrestling.

She is survived by her children, Cynthia Moyer, Hagerstown, Md., Anthony Pittman, Needmore, Cheryl Ziler, Davenport; one sister, Karen Zimmerman, Mansfield, Texas; six grandchildren, Richard Moyer, Hagerstown, Michael Moyer, Las Vegas, Nev., Christopher Pittman, Big Cove Tannery, Pa., Shane Pittman, LaBelle, Pa., Amanda Oliver, Martinsburg, Zachary Davenport, Fla.; 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul G. Pittman on July 18, 2015; two grandchildren, Brittany Ziler and Joshua Ziler; sisters, Leona Divelbliss, Estalee “Peggy” Bain; three brothers, Reed Johnson, Jr., James Johnson, David Johnson and two infant sisters.

Graveside services were conducted on Thursday, September 10 at Damascus Church Cemetery, Big Cove Tannery with Pastor Russell Hoffman officiating.

Arrangements were handled by Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Berkeley Springs.
