Outreach packets & events planned for Sexual Assault Awareness Month

For Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Morgan County Eastern Panhandle Empowerment Center (EPEC) advocates Nicole Roehm, Rose Jackson,  and Trey Goldizen are launching a month-long awareness event.

Staff will be passing out packets to local businesses and organizations located within Morgan County that have information on important dates throughout April to participate in activities, such as April 7, Start By Believing Day, where members of local businesses and organizations will be asked to sign their names to a flyer that states they will start by believing sexual assault victims.

Another awareness event will take place on April 28, Denim Day, a day to wear jeans and any other denim to support individuals who are victims or survivors of sexual assault.

These packets will also include resources and information on the month, each day, and local organizations that can help victims and survivors. Join us as we raise awareness and support for victims and survivors.

For more information, contact EPEC at their Morgan County location by calling 304-258-1078 or by visiting the group’s website and social media pages.
