Six file for council seats

Monday, April 12 was the deadline for candidates to file to run for the Bath town council. As of the end of Monday, the following candidates filed for council positions:
Mayor Scott Merki will run again and is running unopposed. Merki has served three terms as mayor.
Town Recorder Susan Webster has filed and is running unopposed. Webster has served two terms as town recorder.
Current council members Rick Weber, Chris Chapman, Rose Jackson, and Elizabeth Skinner are running to keep their seats for two more years. Newcomers Robert Campbell and Greg Forney filed as candidates for the town council.
The deadline for a write-in candidate to file for office is next Tuesday, April 20.
The deadline for candidate withdrawal is Friday, April 30.
Early voting begins Saturday, May 29 and ends Saturday, June 5.
Election day is Tuesday, June 8.
The municipality holds elections every two years. The last election was in 2019.
