At Governor Hogan’s most recent press conference, the announcement was made that effective at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 12, the State of Maryland would allow for additional reopenings as part of Stage Two of the Maryland Strong: Roadmap to Recovery.
The Governor also mentioned more openings scheduled for Friday, June 19.
The Washington County Board of County Commissioners announces that Washington County will be following the directives from the State of Maryland. Effective at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 12, Washington County will proceed with the additional openings listed in Stage Two of the COVID-19 Recovery Plan.
The County will also proceed with the openings scheduled for Friday, June 19.
Reopenings effective at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020:
–Indoor dining allowed at 50% capacity with distancing, strict public health requirements in place
–Local schools systems can plan and hold safe outdoor graduation ceremonies
–Outdoor amusements and rides, mini golf, go carts will be allowed to reopen with capacity limits
–Outdoor parades, festivals, and fundraisers may resume with appropriate social distancing and face covering when social distancing is not possible
–Outdoor concerts, shows, and any other community, recreational, leisure and cultural gatherings may resume performances and customary operations, but no audiences
–Outdoor youth and amateur sports gatherings and events may resume sporting and other customary operations, but are not open to the general public
–Outdoor professional sports gathering and events (including motor-cross and car racing) may resume sporting and other customary operations, but are not open to the general public
Reopenings effective at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 19:
–Fitness centers, martial arts facilities, dance studios, casinos, arcades, and malls can reopen with 50% capacity limits and public health requirements in place
–School systems will be allowed to bring group of students (10-15 per room) for summer school activities
–Outdoor high school sports can resume practice (limit of 10 students per group)
–Bingo halls, bowling alleys, pool halls, roller and ice skating rinks, social and fraternal clubs allowed indoor at 50% capacity
–Indoor pools and aquatic facilities not to exceed 50% maximum capacity
–Indoor concerts, shows, and any other community, recreational, leisure and cultural gatherings may resume performances and customary operations, but no audiences
–Convention events may resume operations at 50% maximum occupancy
–Indoor youth and amateur sports gatherings and events may resume sporting and other customary operations, but are not open to the general public. Total numbers of persons cannot exceed 50% maximum occupancy, maintain six feet social distancing when possible, and wear face covering when possible.
–Indoor professional sports gatherings and events may resume sporting and other customary operations, but are not open to the general public. Total numbers of persons cannot exceed 50% maximum occupancy, maintain six feet social distancing when possible, and wear face covering when possible.
Citizens are encouraged to continue the following:
–Encourage seniors and vulnerable populations to stay at home
–Continue teleworking
–Wear face covering at retail establishments and public transportation.
As additional industries and activities begin to resume, the Maryland Department of Commerce continues to develop and issue guidance and best practices to help businesses reopen safely.
