Maryland opens vaccine eligibility to all over 16

All Marylanders 16 and older are eligible for COVID-19 vaccination and can schedule appointments through all providers.

Pre-register for an appointment at a mass vaccination site or find a pharmacy, hospital or local health department near you to make an appointment.

You can also pre-register by phone through the state’s COVID-19 vaccination support center at 1-855-MD-GOVAX (1-855-634-6829).

Even if you are vaccinated, it is believed that you can still spread COVID-19 if you are symptomatic. And if you are not fully vaccinated, you are vulnerable to new and contagious variants, so testing continues to be critical to ending this pandemic, state health officials have said.

Testing

The Maryland Department of Health encourages the following individuals to get COVID-19 tests:

-Symptomatic individuals;

-All who suspect exposure, including those who are asymptomatic;

-Individuals who are at risk of exposure, including workers in frequent contact with the public;

-Individuals who have been in large gatherings indoors; and

-Individuals who have traveled recently, including those who have traveled to a state with a COVID-19 test positivity rate above ten percent or a case rate over 20 per 100,000.

The Washington County Health Department has transitioned to mobile testing in the county.  The sites will operated from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. This week, mobile testing will include:

Hagerstown Fire Department (25 Church Street) – Wednesday, April 14,

Hancock Town Hall (126 W. High Street) – Friday, April 16.

Currently Washington County local vaccine distribution is being coordinated by the Washington County Health Department in partnership with Meritus Health and Washington County Emergency Operations Center.

The fastest and most efficient way to get vaccinated at a mass vaccination site is by pre-registering for an appointment.

To pre-register, Maryland residents should visit covidvax.maryland.gov. Those without Internet access can call Maryland’s COVID-19 Vaccination Support Center at 1-855-MD-GOVAX (1-855-634-6829). Advocates are available seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
