An armed suspect wearing a ski mask, hooded sweatshirt and gloves robbed a home in northeastern Morgan County on Friday morning, Novemb
er 1. Police are looking for any tips from the public who may have seen the man or a suspicious vehicle in the area of the home invasion, near Cherry Run.
According to Morgan County Sheriff K.C. Bohrer, a female resident was getting ready for work on Friday morning at roughly 7:15 a.m. after her child had left for school when she heard the rear door of her home open and found a lone male with a gun standing in her hallway.
“He forced her to the floor at gunpoint and then began to go through her residence,” Sheriff Bohrer said in a Friday press release.
He said the victim was not physically harmed in the incident.
The suspect was described as a white male of medium build, approximately 6’1” tall holding a black automatic handgun. The man was not wearing shoes.
According to police, the man took currency, gold and silver and some coins from the residence, then left on foot.
Sheriff Bohrer and Chief Deputy John Walter responded to the 911 call and requested additional officers, including two Berkeley County deputies, a Frederick County, Va. officer and K-9 and West Virginia Department of Transportation officer.
The residence is located roughly one mile from Berkeley County in the Cherry Run area.
Chief Walter set up a search for the suspect while the K9 followed a scent trail northeast from the Fulton Road residence to Mason Road through a wooded area.

Sheriff Bohrer said the residents had previously had firearms stolen from their home.
