Linda Flo Kendo

1948-2021

Linda Flo Kendo, age 73, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the Hampshire Center in Romney, W.Va.

Born May 29, 1948 in Parkersburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Betty Sewell Snider.

She attended Wesleyan Chapel Church.

Linda graduated from Parkersburg Public Schools. She earned her Master’s Degree in Special Education and English from Glenville State College in Glenville, W.Va. Linda taught and touched thousands of kids as a teacher in West Virginia, Ohio, Connecticut, Maryland and Alaska.

She was known for her fondness of frogs, sunflowers, dogs and wildlife critters. There are not many photos where she doesn’t have an animal in her arms. Linda was always game to go skydiving, white water rafting, and moved to the Alaskan tundra to teach.

Linda is survived by her husband of 46 years, John Paul Kendo, at home; three children, Andrew Gorrell, Kerry Kendo, Annette Lawton and one sister.

John was the love of her life and he stated that they lived a good life up to the end.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., where the family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. Rev. William C. Swope and Pastor Matt Swope will officiate. Burial will be private.

The past year was difficult, but we are truly grateful that she passed quietly and comfortably. Thank you to everyone for their ongoing prayers.
