1940-2021

Leonard Martin Stotler, 80, of Great Cacapon, W.Va., passed away June 7, 2021 at his home.

Born August 22, 1940 in Magnolia, W.Va, he was the son of the late Elwood Bud Stotler and Hazel Shambaugh Stotler.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Leonard liked saltwater fishing, gardening and the farm life. He loved butchering livestock and educating the younger generation with his butchering knowledge.

He started working on a sawmill at a young age, but his desire was to be a sheet metal worker. He was hired with the Sheet Metal Workers Local 100, and was employed with the Union until his retirement.

Leonard is survived by his wife, Barbara McManus Stotler, who was by his side for 62 years; two sons, Leonard Stotler, Jr. and his wife, Dianna and Ronnie Stotler and his wife, Tina; one daughter, Joyce Jamison; one brother, Melvin Stotler and his wife, Janice; one sister, Violet Sneeder and her husband, Virl; six grandchildren, Preston and Trevor Jamison, Katie, Brittney and Brooke Stotler and Kayla Savesten; two great-grandsons, Landen and Silas Kolb and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were five brothers, Robert, Lenwood, Charles, Arthur “Buck” and Paul Stotler and four sisters, Pauline Stotler, Georgia Kerns, Ervine Allen and Ellen Faye Brown.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church in Great Cacapon on Sunday, June 27 at 1 p.m. with Pastors Dick Craig and Dick Voorhaar officiating. The family will have a private burial at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, 5317 Central Avenue, Great Cacapon, WV 25422 in his honor.
