Leona Ellen Sipes
1952-2021
Leona Ellen Sipes, age 69, passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at her home.
Born February 20, 1952, in Artemas, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Stewart J. Clingerman and Ethel M. (Jerome) Clingerman; and the widow of Bernard Henry “Buck” Sipes, whom she married on October 8, 1983 and who died May 21, 2003.
She attended Hancock High School; and was employed by Rayloc Manufacturing, in Hancock, for 10 years.
She loved to work in her garden and spend time with her cat, Tiger.
She is survived by two sons, David W. Clingerman and his wife, Angela, of Hancock and Timothy L. Faith and his wife, Shannon, of Hedgesville, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Derick, Brittney, Darrian and Timothy; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Vada Shipe and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy “Sunny” Clingerman, and Harold Wayne Clingerman; and five sisters, Gladys J. Stotler, Pauline E. Boden, Alda V. Smith, Deloris I. Plotner, and Carol A. Abell.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at noon, in the St. Paul’s Lutheran cemetery, 3738 Resley Road, Hancock, Md., with Pastor Jonathan Laye officiating.
Grove Funeral Home, in Hancock, has been entrusted with arrangements.
