Two deputies with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department were promoted in rank last Friday, September 18 during a  ceremony with friends, family, colleagues, County Commission President Joel Tuttle and County Administrator Stefanie Allemong.

Corporal Scott Lemon was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and Deputy Luke Shambaugh was promoted to the rank of Corporal.

Both officers successfully tested with the Civil Service Commission and were certified eligible for promotion in August of 2020.

Sgt. Lemon has been a member of the sheriff’s department for 16 years and Cpl. Shambaugh has been a member of the department for 10 years.

“Both officers have demonstrated by their abilities and work ethics to be most worthy of these promotions.  I look forward to having them part of our great leadership team,” said Sheriff Bohrer.

Pastor Mike Leedom, Union Chapel United Methodist Church assisted with the invocation.

Both officers were “pinned” receiving the new badges of their rank by their families.
