1962-2020

Julie Rae Bishop, age 57, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 10, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born May 9, 1962 in Marion County, Ill., she was the daughter of the late William Paul and Rayetta Larue Smith Gordon.

She was a Christian and attended Alpine United Methodist Church.

Julie attended public schools in Hagerstown, Md.

She had worked at Vanguard Products in Berkeley Springs and at Londontown Manufacturing and Rayloc, both in Hancock. She most recently was the owner/operator of the Stop & Shop in Berkeley Springs.

She loved to be in her shop and some of her customers became her best friends.

Julie loved to go fishing with her husband, attending auctions and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Lonnie William Bishop, at home; her daughter, Amanda Lynne Bucher-McCoy of Hedgesville; one brother, William Bentley Gordon and his wife Payal, of Williamsport, Md.; two grandchildren, Kamdyn Nicole McCoy and Treyton Matthew McCoy, both of Hedgesville and one niece and three nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Brian Lee Smith and her aunt, Vivian Arlene McCall.

There will be a gathering of friends at 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at American Legion Post #60, 527 N. Washington Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. with Pastor Kenny Mason officiating. Fellowship and a meal will follow. Private interment will be in Alpine Church Cemetery.
