Joseph Elridge Hobday, 89, of Berkeley Springs, died Monday, July 20, 2020 at the Berkeley Springs Center, LLC in Berkeley Springs.
Born January 20, 1931 in Morgan County, he was the son of the late Ward Lester and Myrtle Marion Stotler Hobday.
He attended schools in Morgan County.
He was a member of the Morgan County Volunteer Rescue Squad.
He worked for Fairchild Aircraft, Hancock in the paint department.
He liked woodworking, craft shows and traveling.
He is survived by one son, Randy Hobday, Berkeley Springs; two sisters, Betty Stotler, Funkstown, Md. and Myrtle Arnold, Berkeley Springs; four grandchildren, Melissa Bibrey, Krystal Miller, Josh Hobday and Justin Hobday; two great-granddaughters and five great-grandsons.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Charlene Vanorsdale Hobday; two sons, Ricky Hobday and Dale Hobday; seven sisters, Nonetta Stotler, June Beddow, Darlene McBee, Betty Stotler, Kathleen Hobday, Emily Suntag and Ruth Truax and six brothers, Jack Thorn, ST Hobday, Ralph Hobday, Lester Hobday, Johnny Hobday and Bob Hobday.
Services and burial will be private.
