1940-2020

John Thomas “JT” Treece, age 79, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Winchester Medical Center.

Born December 16, 1940 in Huntingdon, Pa., he was the son of the late James Merle and Marie McPhillips Treece.

He was a Christian. JT graduated from St. Teresa High School in Decatur, Ill., and earned his master’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.

He was the executive director of Goochland/Powhatan Community Service Board in Virginia.

JT was the president of Substance Abuse & Recovery Alliance and president of Pathwork Retreat Center.

He enjoyed traveling to University of Virginia to watch football games with friends. JT had a special interest in spiritual healing and energy work. He was an amazing steward to the land he owned.

JT is survived by his siblings, Pamela Treece Sanders of Berkeley Springs, James Merle Treece, Jr. of Austin, Texas; his nieces and nephews, Jason Sanders, Abby Treece, Nikki Sanders and her husband Rob Wooters, JM Treece III and his wife Kathy, Peter Treece and his wife Laura Blackburn, his great nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Wooters, Natalie Treece, Jonathan Ribble and Vincent Bernd.

Services and interment will be private.
