John Puffinberger

John Puffinberger, 75, of Cross Junction, Va., died Friday, August 14, 2020 at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, Va.

He was born May 1, 1945 in Berkeley Springs, son of the late Minnie Puffinberger Stotler.

He worked as a groundskeeper for Cacapon State Park, Berkeley Springs and National Fruit Products in Winchester, Va. He picked apples, cut pulpwood, liked hunting, fishing, watching westerns and game shows.

He married Wondethes Crouse “Juanita” Puffinberger on February 23, 1964, she died January 13, 2014.

He is survived by one son, Robert Puffinberger, Cross Junction; one daughter, Janie Clem, Cross Junction; one grandson, Dylan “Luke” Clem and one sister, Betty Stotler, Winchester, Va.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Stotler.

A funeral service will be held at the Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory in Capon Bridge on Thursday, August 20 at 1:30 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Karen Adams. Interment will follow in the Salem Cemetery near Cross Junction, Va.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12-1:30 p.m. Maintain a six-foot distance and wear face coverings in order to comply with state Covid-19 regulations.
