John J. Burke III
1958-2019
John Joseph Burke III, 60, of Damascus, Md., died Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Brookeville Assisted Living in Olney, Md.
Born October 27, 1958 in Yokohama, Japan, he was the son of Bette Ann Doris Bellin Burke of Berkeley Springs and the late John Joseph Burke.
He was a graduate of Good Counsel High School in Wheaton, Md. and retired after 40 years of service, as a distribution handler with the United States Postal Service.
He liked fishing, watching sports and learning history.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, Phillip Burke, Berkeley Springs; one sister, Eileen Miller, Gaithersburg, Md.; two nieces and three nephews.
Mass of Christian burial was offered Tuesday, January 15 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Berkeley Springs. Rev. Fr. Leonard A. Smith was celebrant.
Interment was in St. Peter’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Hancock.
