John “Bob” R. Trail
1932-2020
John “Bob” R. Trail, 87, of Little Orleans, Md., passed away to be with the Lord on Friday, May 29, 2020, at his home with his family by his side.
Bob was born November 27, 1932, in Warfordsburg, Pa. Mr. Trail was the son of the late John H. Trail and Mary Elizabeth (Schriver) Trail.
He was also preceded in death by his son: Thomas Trail; his daughter: Brenda Trail and his brothers: Cecil “Bill” Trail and Darhl Trail.
Bob was an avid carpenter most of his life and retired from the Department of Allegany Roads from 1969-1998.
He was a United States Army Veteran during the Korean Conflict from 1954-1956, having served as Specialist Fourth Class.
Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years: Doris “Peggy” (Carlisle) Trail and his children: Margaret Boden and husband George; Barbara Morgan and husband Robert and John R. Trail, Jr. and wife, Robin. He also leaves behind brother: Calvin Trail; his sisters: Ethel Clingerman and Viola Purnell; his grandchildren: Jessica Truax and husband, Garrett; Jason Reed and wife, Roxan; Robert Boden; Steven Boden; Jennifer Trail; Bradley Trail; and John Morgan; eight great grandchildren; his great-great granddaughter; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins that he was “Pappy” to and one aunt.
A funeral service was conducted at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Thursday, June 4, 2020, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., with Pastor Larry Trail and Pastor Rodney Traux officiating.
Interment was in Piney Plains Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be John Trail, Jr., Bradley Trail, Jason Reed, Steven Boden, Robert Boden, Garrett Traux, George Boden, and Bruce Hoopengardner. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Trail, Wayne Atkins, John Clingerman and Robert Morgan.
The family has requested casual dress only and no flowers.
