Jerry Bryan Deaver
1947-2020
Jerry Bryan Deaver, age 73, of Paw Paw, W.Va. passed peacefully on July 13, 2020, at Devlin Manor Nursing Home in Cumberland, Md.
Born April 28, 1947 in Morgan County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Jennings Bryan Deaver and Mildred Nellie (Foltz) Deaver.
He was a graduate of Paw Paw High School, class of 1965.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country as a military policeman within Vietnam during the Vietnam War.
During his lifetime, he was employed with Makco, Inc, Charlottesville, Va., WV Division of Highways, Largent, W.Va. and Office Equipment Services, Paw Paw, W.Va.
He was a member of American Legion, WV Post 200 and had attended the Paw Paw Church of Christ.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Deaver) Barney and her husband, Ritchie Barney of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; a granddaughter, Morgan Cain (Brandon Fleece) of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; a sister, Ruth Beeler of Elizabethtown, Pa.; nieces and nephews, Harold (Rocky) Deaver, Jr. (Connie Deaver), Rhonda (Deaver) Dean (Wayne Dean), Michael Beeler (Penny Beeler), Shawn Beeler (Christie Beeler), as well as several cousins and great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his devoted friends (family) Lisa (Largent) Bradfield, Steve Bradfield, Kevin Groah and Sharon Prifogle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jennings and Mildred Deaver; one brother, Harold W. Deaver, Sr., a nephew, Bryan Deaver and a brother-in-law, Earl (Billy) Beeler.
Jerry was known for his love of hunting, fishing, history, cars, enjoying home cooked meals and spending time with his feline companions, Chaplain and Kitty-Kat.
A memorial service to honor Jerry’s life and service will be announced at a later date.
Memorial contributions in Jerry’s honor may be made to the Morgan County Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Fund (MCVVMF), 1337 Pious Ridge Road, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411 in support of their mission to build a memorial in Morgan County or the Humane Society of Morgan County, PO Box 705, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.
