Isaac T. Bohrer

1936-2020

Isaac “Ike” Thomas Bohrer, 83, of Berkeley Springs, died Thursday, July 23, 2020 at his home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born November 24, 1936 in Berkeley Springs, he was the son of the late Isaac Raymond and Jane Grant Dailey Bohrer.

He was a member and attended First United Methodist Church as well as the Isaac & Rebecca Sunday School Class.

He was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

He worked with Western Union in Buffalo, N.Y. for two years and returned to Berkeley Springs. He then worked for Potomac Edison for more than 40 years, retiring in 1997.

He had served on the board of several organizations, including the Morgan County Fire Board, Warm Springs Public Service District, Morgan County Senior Life Services, the Junior Order of United American Mechanics Council #117 and Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post #60. He helped to start the Morgan County Little League.

He liked gardening, woodworking, golfing and bowling.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Penny Sue Dawson Bohrer, at home; two daughters, Angela Bohrer and Amy Benner, both of Martinsburg; one sister, Catherine Carter, Hagerstown, Md. and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis Myers and Anna Weaver and one brother, Robert Bohrer.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 27 at First United Methodist Church, Berkeley Springs. Pastor Josh Rider officiated. Interment was in Greenway Cemetery.
