Helene lived in Germany until the age of five at which time with the passing of her mother, moved to Maryland.

Helene is survived by her husband David A. Keefer of Hancock, Maryland whom she married December 29, 1989; one son, Terry Farris of North West Ohio; three granddaughters, Abby, Sarah and Alex Farris also of North West Ohio; a stepmom Rosalie McNeer of Pipestem, W.Va.; a half sister, Kathy Socks of Clear Spring, Md. and a half brother, Rick Hull of Pennsylvania.

Helene never met a stranger, her selfless nature made any conversation with her whether long or short meaningful. She always listened intently.

Helene was so giving, we could never count how many times she watched over and gave to our family. Our needs always came before her’s, she would just show up, Helene knew what we needed even if we didn’t.

Our loss here on this earth because she was so loved will make our Heavenly Reunion that much sweeter.

Helene’s last selfless act was donating her body to science.
