Helen J. Younker
1929-2018
Helen Jane Younker, age 88, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born October 28, 1929 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William Harold and Gladys Mae Beeler Eppinger.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Helen attended public schools in Morgan County, W.Va., and had worked at Jacobs Brothers Sewing Factory in Hancock, Md.
She and her husband owned and operated Junior’s Supermarket in Berkeley Springs.
Helen enjoyed quilting, embroidering and liked to watch “The Price is Right” game show.
Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Thurman Leroy “Junior” Younker, Jr., at home; her children, Patti J. Mills and her husband Randy, Darrin L. Younker and his wife Tracy and Dennis T. Younker, all of Berkeley Springs; two sisters, Ruth M. Miller and Evelyn F. Stotler, both of Berkeley Springs; one brother, Herbert L. Eppinger, Sr. of Winchester, Va.; five grandchildren, Jason L. Mills of Hedgesville, W.Va., Jeremy L. Mills, Nathaniel B. Younker, Sara N. Younker and Krisha B. McCoy, all of Berkeley Springs; two great grandchildren, Corinne O. Mills and Blair M. Mills, both of Hedgesville and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sheila Gay Younker, three sisters, Geraldine “Becky” Ruppenthal, Julia Mae McBee and Mary Joyce Eppinger and three brothers, William “Bill” Eppinger, Phillip B. Eppinger and Richard H. Eppinger.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., where the family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Pastor Kenny Mason will officiate. Interment will be in Parkhead Cemetery.
