Last year, Hancock Police and the Town of Hancock put a damper on National Night Out events, reducing it to a fireworks display for 2020. This year though, it’s going to be a return to normal as National Night Out takes place Tuesday, August 3, in Widmeyer Park.

Fireworks explode over Widmeyer Park during a mini National Night Out last year due to COVID restrictions. Fireworks and full activities return to Hancock this coming Tuesday.
The event kicks off at 6 p.m.
As in past years, there will be free food available with the Lions Club serving hot dogs and hamburgers and Take Two providing a musical backdrop to National Night Out.
The Hancock Police Department has invited other police agencies from around the tri-state area. Organizers didn’t confirm what agencies were going to be represented.
There will also be various children’s activities in Widmeyer Park as well.
Organizers confirmed that Black Out veterans truck would be at National Night Out again this year.
Joint Training Facility will also be back with their popular inflatable activities.
There will be a dunk tank from the Town of Hancock.
Scattered around Widmeyer Park will also be various businesses and organizations with informational booths as well.
Around dusk, activities will wind down as the crews prepare for the fireworks show.
For those unsure about going due to the ongoing pandemic, organizers said they will be following the CDC COVID guidelines with social distancing and masks are optional if you would want to wear one.
