The Berkeley Springs High School Lady Indians made the long trip to Taylor County to play the Grafton Bearcats in the opening round of the Class AA Sectional championships on Monday, February 24. The Lady Indians the #6 team needed to put together one of its best performances of the season if they were to continue their season.
Unfortunately for the young Lady Indians the home team was hitting on all cylinders. Grafton jumped out to a 22-3 first quarter lead. By the end of the second quarter the Bearcats held a 47-14 lead.
In the third quarter Grafton kept the scoring up as they increased their lead to 65-19. In the final quarter the Bearcats wrapped up the win, 83-33.
Berkeley Springs was led by Caybrie Clatterbuck (10 points), Kaleah Mellott (six points), Ty’aira Mifflin (six points), Sara Veara (six points), Molli Hogbin (four points) and Taylor Stotler (one point).
