Grace Evelyn Rager
1926-2021
Grace Evelyn Rager, 95, of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, and formerly of Lewistown, went home to be with her Lord, August 5, 2021, at War Memorial Hospital, Berkeley Springs.
Born March 6, 1926, in McClure, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Gertrude (Thomas) Stimely.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maxwell R. “Max” Rager Jr., April 19, 2002, four brothers and two sisters.
Grace is survived by: daughters, Gloria Deiss and husband, Eugene, of Sun City Center, Fla. and Donna Walters and husband, William, of Berkeley Springs, W. Va.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons.
Grace was formerly an avid golfer and a member of Rhodes Memorial United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Grace and her husband, Max, owned Rager’s Furniture Store in Lewistown for over 30 years.
A public funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes, 108 First Ave., Burnham, with Pastor Steve Small and Pastor Tom Morningstar officiating. A private viewing for the immediate family will be held an hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will take place at Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
A memorial gathering honoring Grace’s life and love for her family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at The Country Inn, 110 S. Washington St., Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Grace’s memory to Rhodes Memorial UMC, 500 Highland Ave Ext., Lewistown, PA 17044.
