Glenwood A. Goodman
1930-2020
Glenwood Allan Goodman, age 90, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va. died on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Sterling Care Harbor Ponite in Salisbury, Md.
Born March 28, 1930 in Morgan County, W.Va., he was the son of the late John and Alta Blanche Corbin Goodman.
He attended St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
He was a 1948 graduate and Valedictorian of Berkeley Springs High School.
He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
He worked for Fairchild Aircraft and retired from Mack Truck as an Engineering power train developer in Hagerstown, Md.
He was a 70-year member of the Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post #60 and past commander and a lifetime member of the VFW Post # 4019. He was a member of Deford Lodge #88 A.F. & A.M. and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was a Charter member of Seldom Seen Hunting Club in Largent, W.Va. A lifetime member of North American Rod & Gun Club in Hagerstown, Md.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Betty J. Waugh Goodman; one daughter, Linda Cornelius and husband Terry of Salisbury, Md.; one son, Craig Goodman and wife Vicki of Delmar, Md.; one grandson, Christopher Maas and two great grandchildren, Lily Maas and Brody Maas; one niece Rhonda Sirbaugh and two nephews Eddie and Keith Goodman; one sister in law Mary Ellen Goodman of Martinsburg, W.Va.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Robert and Ronald Goodman.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 36 S. Green Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
Services were conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Father Brian Shoda officiating. Interment with military honors provided by the Tri State Honor Guard were in Greenway Cemetery.
