Friendie Richard Youngblood, 82, of Hedgesville, died Friday, July 24, 2020 at his home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born January 28, 1938 in Morgan County, he was the son of the late Friendie Richardson and Ruth Lavina Dawson Youngblood.

He was a member of Snyder’s Bible Church in Hedgesville.

He attended public schools in Morgan County.

He farmed, butchered and had worked at sawmills.

He was self-employed in the construction business.

He is survived by his son, Richard Youngblood, Hedgesville; three grandchildren, Christopher “Skeeter” Youngblood, Martinsburg, Logan Stout and Nikia Mason, both of Hedgesville and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Rose Huffman Youngblood on October 10, 2018 and three children, Debra Mason, Sharon Stout and Robert Youngblood.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, July 29 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 7408 River Road, Hedgesville with Pastor Donald Dick officiating.

The family will receive friends from 8:30-9:30 a.m. today, Wednesday at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
