Frederika Whitney Breslin, SFO, 92, of Berkeley Springs, died Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at the Mercy Center in Dallas, Pa.
Born September 27, 1926 in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Robert Joseph and Julia Frederika Whitney Breslin.
She was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Berkeley Springs and a professed member of the Padre Pio Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order of Cumberland, Md.
She graduated from Kingston Township High School in Trucksville, Pa., Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Wilkes Barre, Pa. and entered the Novitiate, then taking her vows as a Sister of Mercy, at College Misericordia in Dallas.
She worked as a surgical nurse in a number of hospitals and retired from War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.
She is survived by two sisters, Sarah Monson, Versailles, Ken. and Frances Seibert, Greenfield Center, N.Y. and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial was offered Monday, November 12 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Berkeley Springs.
Rev. Fr. Leonard A. Smith was celebrant.
Interment was in St. Peter’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Hancock.
