Floyd L. Weller

1941-2021

Floyd Luther “Tojo” Weller, age 79, of Big Pool, Md., passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the Meritus Medical Center, in Hagerstown, Md.

Born August 27, 1941, in Hancock, Md., he was the son of the late Luther A. “Gus” and Mary E. (Mills) Weller; and the husband, for 57 years, of Deana (Hart) Weller.

He retired from Xerxes Corp. in 2006. Prior to that, he was employed by C. William Hetzer, Inc., and Eastern Products, both in Hagerstown, Md.

He served in the U.S. Army, and was a veteran of the Maryland Army National Guard.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 222, in Clear Spring, Md.

Floyd was an avid hunter and fisherman, but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Matthew N. Weller and his wife, Sarah, of Big Pool; one daughter, Renee E. Weller and Ed Barbour, of Big Pool; a sister, Betty Hensley, of Needmore, Pa.; a son-in-law, Duane Keadle; seven grandchildren, Floyd, Stephanie, Danielle, Christian, Kyra, Dylan, and Cayden; and eight great-grandchildren, Gabby, Brooke, Cloe, Floyd, Jr., Brayden, Kinsley, Rosemary, and ClaraBelle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Keadle; six brothers; and five sisters.

The family will receive friends at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, Md., on Wednesday, February 10, from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to services. Ed Barbour will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Park Head Cemetery, in Big Pool, Md., with military honors conducted by the Tri-State Honor Guard.
