Eileen L. Reeder
1923-2020
Eileen Louise Allemong Reeder, age 97, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 of natural causes at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility in Kearnesyville, W.Va.
Born February 19, 1923 in Omps, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Benbridge and Hattie Amelia Beeler Allemong.
She was a long time charter member of First United Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs where she held many committee membership positions and was a member of the choir for 40 years.
She attended both Mt. Garfield and Berkeley Springs High School, graduating in 1941.
She also attended Prince George’s Community College where she graduated with honors.
She was a member of Ye Towne of Bath Daughters of the American Revolution and Berkeley Chapter #77 Order of the Eastern Star.
She was employed for a period of time as a substitute teacher and librarian in Prince George’s County, Md.
She is survived by one son, Ronald R. Reeder II and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ronald and son Darrell; four brothers, Lewis, Franklin, Elmo and James Allemong and two sisters, Reba Michael and Betty Dorsey.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. with Pastor Joshua Rider officiating. Due to Covid 19 only family and close friends may attend. Face coverings are required.
Private entombment will be in Greenway Cemetery Mausoleum.
