Edgar Aubrey Varner
1929-2020
Edgar Aubrey Varner passed away at his home in Warfordsburg, Pa. on January 14, 2020.
He was born June 11, 1929 in Hagerstown, Md. He was the son of the late Edgar William Varner and the late Edna Anna Petre Varner.
He attended Hagerstown High School.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War from January 3, 1951 till January 1, 1953. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars and the United Nations Service Medal.
Edgar lived in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Florida where he worked as a electrician.
Edgar enjoyed meeting with his friends several times a week for coffee and was known by many.
He is survived by a daughter, Sandra and grandchildren; sisters, Mary Louise Rosborough of Fahrney Keedy Village, Boonsboro, Md., Ethel May King of Fahrney Keedy Nursing Home, Boonsboro, Md., Anna Catherine Ford of DeFuniak Springs, Fla. and Marie Ellen Shay of Hagerstown, Md.
In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by a brother, George Clayton Verner; grandparents, J. Clayton and Nettie V. Verner and Samuel H. and Clara R. Petre and friend Larry K. Morton.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation is being handled by Zimmerman-Auer Crematorium in Harrisburg, Pa.
Burial will be private.
