Dorothy L. Carder

1945-2021

Dorothy Louise Carder, age 75, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born June 14, 1945 in Clarksburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Wesley E. and Virginia A. Campbell Heater.

She was a Christian.

Dorothy attended Roosevelt-Wilson High School in Clarksburg.

She and her husband John owned and operated Pro Alert Security in Frederick, Md., until their retirement after 20 years of service.

Dorothy enjoyed yard sales, gardening, playing cards, working on arts and crafts. She loved cooking and baking for her family.

Dorothy is survived by her children, David Bradley Carder and his wife Terri of Monrovia, Md., Otice Jefferson Carder of Berkeley Springs, Jason Lee Carder and his wife Jennifer of Ijamsville, Md., Jessica Nicole Hilderbrand and her husband Upton of Frederick, Md.; two brothers, Gary W. Heater and Wesley E. Heater, Jr. of Clarksburg; 11 grandchildren, David Michael, Justin, Brittany, Dylan, Dalas, Dakota, Kaylee, Cheyenne, Jason, Cydnee, Alyssa and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, John David Carder.

A private memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
